Advice for future students

I am glad another term is down because that means I am closer to finishing my college degree. My advice to future students that have to write scientific research papers is make sure to meet the requirements. Become very familiar with citations and anything else that goes into a paper. Research the topic thoroughly because it will make writing the paper easier. Over the past 10 weeks, I feel a little better about APA. I still struggle with writing and believe that I always will so I think that needs improvement. I do not think I have any last thoughts on anything!!

Comp II Accomplishment

I am glad to be finished with my paper!!! I really don't like writing, especially papers. I feel like a weight has lifted off my shoulders with me finishing and turning in my final project. I don't want to come across rude or anything about not liking writing. It wasn't too bad before I had a family because I had plenty of time to do homework but now with two little ones that are attached to my hip, I don't have time to myself at all! So I am glad and tired and I feel like I have accomplished something for this term. Other topics that I would like to research would be PTSD because someone in class is doing their paper on it and it is very personal to me because of my husband.

8 weeks down, 2 to go!!!

Hello,
Issues that I have had during this whole process is being able to stay on top of work, especially the research and writing the paper. Both of my kids, 2 1/2 years and 1 year, are constantly attached to me. They get jealous of each other if one is by me and the other isn't and they scream and just take up majority of my time. They are night owls so it is hard to do any work once they go to sleep. Anyways, I have slowly completed most of my work. Writing isn't my strong point in education. Never was unless we could write a story we made up.

As far as it goes on my blog posts, I only have 3 followers so I am not surprised that I don't have that many comments on my blogs. I think that I may keep up with the blog once I complete this course because I can always vent about anything and everything by writing a blog.

My Peers

Hello,
I am feeling a ton better!!! I am finally able to a lot of my school work so I am happy!

Peer reviews, in my opinion, are the best thing that could ever happen in the writing process. When a paper, essay, book, etc. is wrote, everyday normal people will be the ones who are reading it. To have my fellow classmates, who are normal people, review my paper and give me feedback, positive or negative, is very helpful to me. I am not a very strong writer to begin with, but getting feedback makes me feel a little better and pushes me a little further to try my best.

The last 6 weeks

The last six weeks have been really crazy for me. We have been really busy with my grandmother who is getting a lot better after almost losing her about 4 times. My husband is getting ready to deploy again so I have been taking care of our kids while he has been gone training. I had sinus surgery that I am still recovering from which gave me an awful UTI and bronchitis that I am afraid has turned into pneumonia which I am getting seen about that next week. My youngest daughter turned 1 on May 20. We were going to go on a family vacation but because of the training schedule, we won't be able to go. That has been about all that I can think of that has happened in the last six weeks. My topic that I am writing about hopefully will influence pregnant women to stop smoking.

My writing style

My writing style is free writing and brainstorming. I love to freestyle and write whatever is on my mind down. Brainstorming is the perfect start to writing, in my opinion. It lays out the paper almost exactly and is easy to follow. My biggest academic challenge is and will be staying on top of schoolwork. There is always something going on in my life, whether it is a very ill family member to getting surgery. It is very easy to procrastinate the work until it is or almost late.

Plagiarism

Hello,
I feel a lot better from my surgery. Still quite sore and I developed a bad UTI from the anesthesia and also bronchitis. I am still not fully back to my self needless to say.

Plagiarism is a very important part of writing an essay, book, etc. To plagiarize is to write something that someone else has first and not give them credit for it. We need to cite our sources first not to plagiarize but to give the actual person that said it the credit for their work. If someone was to use my work and not give me credit I would be upset. I spent all that time to research and write and someone else receives the credit, that is not right. I have been a victim of plagiarism in school but didn't report it to my teacher. Plagiarism of professionals should be reported to the supervisor or boss immediately.
